Get your iOS device ready for Film Bubble testing

📱 Step 1: Find Your Device UDID

Method 1: Using Finder (macOS Catalina+)

  1. Connect your iPhone/iPad to your Mac with a USB cable
  2. Open Finder
  3. Select your device from the sidebar
  4. Click on the device name/model at the top
  5. This will cycle through different identifiers - look for the UDID
  6. Right-click the UDID and select "Copy"

Method 2: Using iTunes (older macOS/Windows)

  1. Connect your device to your computer
  2. Open iTunes
  3. Select your device
  4. Click on "Serial Number" until you see "UDID"
  5. Right-click the UDID and select "Copy"

Method 3: Using iOS Device

  1. Go to SettingsGeneralAbout
  2. Scroll down and long-press on "Name" until a menu appears
  3. Select "Copy" to copy your UDID

Note: The UDID is a long string of letters and numbers (40 characters). It looks like: 1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef12345678

📝 Step 2: Register Your Device

Send your device information to the development team:

Required Information:

  • Device Name: A friendly name (e.g., "John's iPhone")
  • UDID: The 40-character identifier from Step 1
  • Your Name: For identification purposes

📧 Contact Information:

Email the development team with your device information. You'll receive confirmation when your device is registered.

📥 Step 3: Install the App

✅ Once your device is registered:

  1. Open this website on your iOS device (not your computer)
  2. Go back to the main download page
  3. Tap the "📱 Install App" button for the version you want
  4. iOS will ask if you want to install the app - tap "Install"
  5. Wait for the installation to complete

🔒 Step 4: Trust the App

After installation, you need to trust the developer certificate:

  1. Go to SettingsGeneralVPN & Device Management
  2. Under "Developer App", find the Film Bubble entry
  3. Tap on it and then tap "Trust [Developer Name]"
  4. Confirm by tapping "Trust" again
  5. You can now open the app from your home screen

⚠️ Important: If you don't see the "VPN & Device Management" option, it means the app installation failed or your device isn't registered. Try the installation again or contact the development team.

🔧 Troubleshooting

❌ "Unable to Download App"

  • Your device UDID might not be registered
  • Make sure you're using Safari on iOS (not Chrome or other browsers)
  • Check that you have enough storage space

❌ "Untrusted Developer"

  • Follow Step 4 above to trust the developer certificate
  • The app won't open until you complete this step

❌ App Crashes or Won't Open

  • Make sure your iOS version is compatible
  • Try restarting your device
  • Reinstall the app
  • Contact the development team with your iOS version and device model
